Interbev

France

Interbev, the National Interprofessional Association for Livestock and Meat, was founded in 1979 by organisations representing the French livestock and meat sectors. It encompasses professionals from the bovine, ovine, equine, and caprine sectors, aiming to provide consumers with healthy, high-quality products that are traceable throughout the supply chain. Interbev’s mission is to unite and promote the common interests of stakeholders in the livestock farming industry, as well as artisanal, industrial, and commercial activities within the meat sector, a major economic contributor in France.

The association’s efforts are directed towards enhancing sustainable practices across the sector, ensuring the well-being of both animals and workers, and maintaining high standards of meat quality. This dedication to improvement and sustainability is a cornerstone of Interbev’s activities.

Interbev is made up of 22 national trade organisations representing the various professions in the livestock and meat sector: livestock farmers, live animal traders, producer groups, livestock markets, slaughterers, wholesalers, manufacturers, distributors (traditional butchers and supermarkets) and canteens.

From breeding to distribution, INTERBEV represents, defends and promotes all the professions in the sector.
